Strong magnet. does the job. Extinguishes quickly. It's been 2 years and it's still working. No melting problems, the magnet still sticks to the car. All is well. If it broke somehow, I would buy another one.

A bit small, maybe the size of a soda can, but does the job. The dimensions might be correct with the lid on, but it's definitely not 7 inches when closed. The plug insert had to be glued on to prevent it from falling into the ashtray when in use. The lid is also a bit wobbly. However, it is better than other aftermarket car ashtrays I have tried.

Bought to replace one I bought 8 years ago. As with the older model (essentially exactly the same), the silver grid you use to put out cigarettes needs a drop of epoxy to hold it in place. Do not use a hot glue gun for this. Hot glue melts in a car abandoned in summer. In this sense. plastic grid. Extinguish the cigarette in a gentle crushing motion and sweep the coals into the bowl. Don't slowly grind the cherries into the grate like a bored celebrity or a hole will form over time.

I'm glad to finally have an ashtray for my car, but this product has some disadvantages. It's quite annoying that there is no way to close the top, it would be nice if they had a version where it can actually stay closed. I've also had some issues with the entire top half popping out when I want to pick it up and move it - again, it would be nice if it were more securely closed. Overall it holds my ashes and the occasional trash without making a mess, unless the lid has come off like it…
