Really good helmet for the money

Every helmet sold in the US must pass the same safety test. So a $50 helmet has the same protection (if it passes the test) as a $400 helmet. This helmet is lighter than the one my son wore at Walmart. He needs something bigger and lighter and it works great. It's not the easiest or cheapest (or most expensive) so it's exactly what he needed/was looking for. Bell is a respected brand and their style suits their needs.

Why isn't this model on the Bell Helm website?

Helmet looks decent, has the "Bell" logo. But here's the thing - if you go to bellhelmets.com, try searching for the "Berm" model in the search bar on that page. It seems very strange to me that this product is not listed on the manufacturer's website. I'm not ready to say this is a fake product yet, but there seems to be "Bell Sports" which is not the same as "Bell Helms" which is the REAL Bell site. Doesn't it strike you as strange that there is no website for the manufacturer of this…

Pros
  • Helmets and accessories
Cons
  • Slightly torn

I liked the Bell Helm pedigree but it just didn't fit.

Bell has a long and proud history of making headwear that is safe and respected. So when I saw that they make bike helmets, I chose Bell. But its size is only 60cm, not 61 like most other helmet manufacturers. It was too small for my big head. Since it was tight there, I could feel the plastic edge of the pad rubbing against my forehead. The chin strap was too tight. In general, I wanted a bell and wanted it to work, but I returned it. If my head was a little smaller I think it would work.
