You can buy a helmet without trying it on

You're not kidding. You can really customize this helmet to your head. Assuming you're not a circus freak. I researched consumer reports and bike sites and selected this model and bought it direct from Revain. Fitting takes time, but follow the instructions and search online for information on how to fit a helmet properly and this helmet will be a winner.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Available in white only

Damn, that thing is ugly.

This helmet fits me, it's adjustable, durable and is good value for a quality helmet. In my opinion there are two main cons: 1. It's ugly. Ugly to the point that wearing them will probably make you look ridiculous. 2: The vents are poorly designed and keep you warmer while cycling. This is actually a plus in colder weather, but when it's hot and you're on a long drive, expect to sweat a little more than usual.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

Urban Helm: Helmets & Accessories

Before I buy a helmet I read a number of articles online about the different types of bike helmets you can buy and the different ways to tell them apart. And I think I've forgotten almost everything. I use my helmet and bike to commute to work in NYC, and the traffic there is crazy enough that I'm happy to wear a helmet, even when I'm on my bike, obeying all traffic rules and observing all traffic lights. I like Bell Pulse. It's comfortable and the price seems reasonable to me. Of course I…

Pros
  • One Year Trial
Cons
  • No Instructions

It's like the Volvo of bike helmets

Good. Anyway, Volvo 80s and 90s. It's a bit boxy, not very aerodynamic, and not sexy as other reviewers have pointed out. Seems a bit heavy. But I'm not afraid that when I finally bang my head inside the pavement (which always happens eventually) that will reliably save me from serious injury. Mine arrived which was a bit of a shame as I was contemplating using it. Now I see that other reviewers have had similar experiences as well. After all, it's more than adequate for the money, but it won't

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Not bad

Ugly but functional

(+)FunctionalAdjustable(-)Fat Uglybrittle beak connections Poor ventilation My head is big and seems bigger when wearing this helmet. Here, Bell Impulse's blessing is also its curse. Of course, I'm not worried if my head hits a curb, but I feel like I lose so much of the sophisticated aerodynamics of my Trek 850 by wearing this helmet! When riding upwind or down a steep hill I have to literally push the visor down (seems to be some sort of design flaw - my visor's connection to the helmet broke

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Definitely bad product
