I really like the "Christmas" set. The paintings and pictures are very good and the customer service was great. They contacted me after I received my purchase and asked if everything was ok. However, the largest Matryoshka doll (Joseph) was very loose so I informed them and they offered to trade it for me. Now I have a great new set of nesting dolls for Christmas :)

I thought it was cheap wood and not smooth inside. I forgot what you said in your Revain insert but something like new and good quality. I don't feel like it was anything but good quality. I have several sets of nests and the finishes are great and the interior wood is smooth. Just disappointed with what I got. Expensive for this craftsmanship and quality.

Didn't know they were made in China. I have 5 other sets of nesting dolls made in Russia that are completely different. They are three times wider and the wood, fit and finish are much better. Sure, you pay more, but since a photo can't say everything when buying online, I thought it might help. Since they are given to children I am interested in the lead content in the paint.

I was very happy to receive it as a gift for my mother. But when I opened them, I was really a lazybones. Joseph is not compatible. It's like the top and bottom weren't made together. The back has an overlap of about 2/8 width (about the width of the top of a safety pin, see pictures) and the front doesn't quite match. The color suits everyone else and all other dolls are a perfect match. Too bad the Joseph doll doesn't fit.

I really love nesting dolls. I have a collection of these on display in my dining room. This is a unique and inspirational addition to my collection. It consists of 5 parts: Joseph, Mary, one of the three kings, a shepherd with a lamb and the baby Jesus. Matryoshkas are "invested" in each other, in each other, and so on.
