I live in the Pacific Northwest. Normally it only rains once a year, but it's constant rain. It starts in September and ends sometime in June. The difference in laser pointer performance was huge: the right laser was very, very bright, while the left laser was almost invisible in low light and only visible in the bathroom with the lights off. So LED and LD work perfectly. Although I did notice that one side of the 2 laser track was darker (not much, just a little to notice while driving). For me it really doesn't make much of a difference as it still gives me the lanes I expect on the road. But most of all I was disappointed with the LED/lamp mount. Laser stripe pointers are disappointing. Although they started out at the same brightness, one quickly became much dimmer than the other.
