Not Made in Italy. A very nice unit and it has potential but the top and bottom chambers were not properly sealed and the boiling water was dripping onto my burner. If it was made better, like a moka pot, I'd be happy.

Stainless steel looks great and is very comfortable to use. Care must be taken not to leave it unattended or cook it on anything other than medium heat. The underside darkens and burns easily. Don't stuff the coffee, but fill it up to the top. Cap threads and area must be clean from grinding to maintain a good cap seal and ensure proper function. Well done. We love our coffee and Bialetti. Sent from Ireland, this Venus is heavy and well built. We had previously ordered a large kitty in line which was fragile and I sent it back straight away. There is some dripping on the handle from condensation as others have noted, but the handle doesn't get hot. I had a 12 cup aluminum Bialetti (2 coffee cups) for several years until I roasted the coffee in it (was at the computer and lost track of time). There was no more "coffee" as we know it. I prefer a 12/2 cup size for my thermos, but I'd prefer stainless steel over aluminum anyway. I have been using Bialetti mocha pans for many years. For some reason, the bigger the pot, the worse it works. The smallest (for 3 cups) works like a charm - never a problem.
