Screw to tighten collar tabs on first use

Very poor quality product. I couldn't even use it because when I tried to tighten the screw it came loose completely. Don't waste money.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Minor details

As good as they get.

They are made of steel and do not slip or break easily. Each size uses the same hex wrench, which is included. The price is good too. They're not marked, but I don't mind.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Frequency

It's not what it should be.

This product will gradually move as you use it multiple times. It's not working as well as I thought it would. Starts off well but when the bit went over the expensive side I couldn't afford to use it. But it's ok, at least I tried. vernon

Pros
  • Durable surface
Cons
  • Expandable

They really work (unlike the cheap ones)

A few bucks more than cheap collars but they really work. They do not slip at all and do not cause vibration when drilling. I wish they came with a little case or box and they would be perfect. But I threw them in a ziplock bag to keep the kit together since I don't use it every day.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Communication with seller

The quality is worth the price.

These locking rings are a tight fit on the bits and their surface is parallel to the axis of the bit. I mostly use mine on countersink bits. The clamping screw protrudes slightly and should be taken into account when used next to a vertical panel. They are way better than the old ones I've used with set screws that tighten the bit and are always out of parallel.

Pros
  • Amazing
Cons
  • Nothing

fits perfectly with the specified drill size

These cuffs use a split ring configuration. Ideal for the specified drill size. open to accommodate the larger drill, and on the other hand, the smaller drill just slips through. So I also bought a ring type kit that uses an Allen screw against the drill area to attach the ring to the drill bit.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Compatibility

Very good locking rings

Good workmanship and threads fit and clamp across the full width of the ring regardless of mounting on the shank or flutes of the part. Don't waste your time with a set screw. They don't show the size, but if you cut open the plastic wrapper on three sides, you'll have a lidded holder that you can write on with a marker. The best value for money I've found.

Pros
  • Used to precisely control the depth of the hole being drilled
Cons
  • Only available in black

Tightening enough to stay in place

3-4 stars could be picked at this point. Will be lower if thread ever breaks. The first set was missing a screw so I sent it back for a replacement. All parts were included in the spare parts set. I was and still am concerned about how tight the screws need to be to keep them from moving. Some have complained about thread pulls. Mine has never been disassembled and I've only used it a handful of times as I'm a layman and not a professional everyday user. I can understand why some people took…

Pros
  • Designed to grip the full diameter of the drill bit without the screw ever touching the shank
Cons
  • The newer model
