Tool for a job and it gets the job done

I bought this to mount a crown on a 1.5" tapered carbon fork. Slide the race, put on the tool, tap it with a hammer and the race is set. Worth the money without having to improvise and damage the fork.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • There are cons

Best buy! Best in Tool Shop

I'm a former professional bike mechanic with 20 years experience and needed a Crown racing tool ASAP. I didn't want to spend money on a Park instrument so this was my best bet. This thing is so awesome that no hammer is needed as you have enough grip to hammer it in place. I have used this on a Cane Creek 110 and Fox 36 fork.

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Available in white only

Technically suitable for Sport

Does what it is supposed to do but scratches the steering column. in the bike shop they use fittings that conform to the corona racing form, this one clearly doesn't have fittings like this. It will also scratch the bearing race if you are not careful. While it technically works, I'm not sure I'll be changing headset bearings more often.

Pros
  • Easy adjustment

Cheap look - Cycling

The tool worked so I gave it 3 stars. The price is a bit high for this quality tool. Nothing in his look or feel inspired confidence. Looks like cheap cast iron. There is no precision work here. But it worked. Maybe $10 would be a better price. In retrospect, I should have spent $$$ on a much better parking tool.

Pros
  • Test for one year
Cons
  • High price

It's a tube but not a very good one

This is a one piece Crown Race Setter that depends on how you hit your Crown Race with a metal tube. Your bike, your life, your decision if it's a good idea. In my case, I'm stuck to buy the best tool that will allow you to apply enough force and not gouge out the crown ring (and if you screw up the setup, it will be difficult to remove). I've tried enough assembly options, from a direct hit as instructed to a hammer on the edges of this tube, to be sure it will work to a tight enough…

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

Great tool to get the job done

I've been building and restoring bikes as a hobby for years and have always installed fork crowns indiscriminately with pipe cutters or automotive tools. For my latest build I decided to invest in the right tuning tool and bought this tool. This tool is versatile in the sense that it works with three common bike fork sizes. It seems well made, well designed and works like a charm for me. I would say the value for money makes this product great and I expect to use it in the future. The tool was…

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • boring packaging

Exactly what I needed!

I recently bought a new 130mm travel fork for my XC/Trail bike. Unfortunately, there was no running mother or star mother. This is the first time I've had to install a new race and I know a lot of people use a piece of PVC pipe or similar, but I've also heard and seen a lot of races destroyed or damaged using these methods. I figured a racing tool would be a great addition to my bike tool box so I could get the job done right. I looked around and the prices ranged from ridiculous to "how good…
