🔧 Bilstein 24-185776 B8 5100 - Shock Absorber: Unparalleled Quality and Durability Review

6 months before buying Bilstein I installed heavy KYBs front and rear. KYBs are good shocks, but they are too stiff for my normal use unless fully loaded with a few thousand pounds in the body. I installed Bilstein and my kidneys are happy again. 1998.5 Dodge Cummins 4x4 stock lift.

You see this on my 1999 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 and immediately noticed such an improvement that I bought the same brand for my other car. Great product for the price. The only problem I noticed was that when trying to unscrew the nut it was easy to cross the threads because the metal was so soft I think it would have helped if they heat treated the threads and excellent 8 hardware would have used.

Installed it in a few hours just because it hurt to keep it compressed but once everything was in place everything else was easy. The only thing I can complain about is that the straps that prevent it from fully stretching need more compression to make installation easier. Overall, my truck handles better than stock and now I can be really confident that I'll adjust the torsion bars to the desired height I'm aiming for.
