100% improved handling!

Bought a used 2006 Chevy Colorado that needed a suspension overhaul. I chose Bilstein because of their reputation. Once installed, the difference was incomparable. Truck drives like new! I did all the bushings and ball joints to complete the job but the shocks are the star! I can only recommend Bilstein!

Pros
  • Shock absorber

Not for Z71 4WD Trucks

I found out the hard way that these shocks do not fit all 4WD trucks - Z71 4WD trucks require "4WD" shocks. I gave 5 stars based on my previous experience with Bilsteins; Others I've used have always been great shocks and have greatly improved handling and ride comfort. The bottom of these shocks is 32mm in diameter, while the standard shocks are 27mm in diameter; These shocks are too wide to fit in the forearm seat.

Pros
  • Shocks, Struts & Suspension
Cons

Great replacement for my 2005 Colorado ZQ8 2x4 LS 3.5L

Great replacement for my 2005 Xtreme LS Crew Cab 2x4 3.5L. It took me longer to jack up the truck than to change the dampers and springs. I went to the local auto zone and rented spring compressors. I unscrewed the top three nuts by 15mm and the bottom bolt by 21mm. He pulled out the spool, compressed the spring and took out the middle nut. Everything aligned and the coil assembled. Torque the stem nut to 20 ft-lbs. Reinstall the upper strut nuts and torque to 26 ft-lbs. Tighten the lower arm…
