Product is good, Amazon shipping is terrible!

Good quality drill bit. AMAZON shipping service is unreliable, late, terrible, you should just leave it to the professionals (USPS UPS FED-EX). USPS DEMAND

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • weak

Pilot drill broke on first hole

I was drilling stainless steel, only had to drill two holes, fairly thin steel. The pilot drill broke off at the base halfway through the first hole. I started well enough to finish this hole but the shaft got stuck in the base and I couldn't get it out. The carbide tips are monsters, they chew through stainless steel like cheese, but the rest is mostly cast iron. Too bad, with a slightly better base it could have been a really good beat.

Pros
  • Hands free
Cons
  • Very expensive

The drill did its job.

I used this bit to drill 12 holes in a 3" diameter, 1/4" wall steel pipe. I was able to drill all the holes but lost the carbide tips and ended up with all the carbide tips broken off. (Interestingly, the last tip broke right at the bottom of the 12th hole, but that was all it took me to drill.) The drill was still useful even if you had the last carbide tip left. I think the problem is that I drilled the holes with a 1/2" heavy duty drill bit and when the drill bit gets stuck a bit the bit…

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
