Saved me a lot of money. Easy to do.

The part of my two key rings that contains the actual key has broken off. The electronics still worked, but the keys were dangling from the key fob. It is almost impossible to use the keys for the doors or the ignition. I now have two working key fobs that cost a lot less than replacing or making new keys. It took a bit of fiddling to put everything together, but nothing too bad. All in all it was relatively easy. Very happy with my purchase.

Pros
  • Makes you happy
Cons
  • There are defects

Case seems to work

Key fob for Honda Accord 2008 broken. I mainly used this key when I gave the car to the mechanic. Replacing the button cover works well. Before assembling, I screwed the supplied screw into the back cover. This seemed to solve the problem of the screw pulling two plastic pieces apart. My key didn't have a separate transponder - it must have been built into the button assembly. Some keys have a separate transponder, I don't have one.

Fits... after a few tries

To be honest I was nervous putting this together because I would have the same problems as other users. I had to take it apart and reassemble it a few times before it fit. The screw also seemed to be too long until I made sure/checked that my key was tight. The key is easier to insert from the opposite side of the electrical part. Otherwise a perfect fit. Seems a little cheaper than the Honda version. Will update when it breaks!

  • Excellent overall performance

Easy replacement best in interior accessories

Easy installation. Looks nice. I have a 2012 Honda Pilot. For those wondering if there is a separate RF chip, there isn't one for this model and most models that have been released in recent years. This is a very simple process. Attach the key to the key holder that comes with the screw and place it on the new key fob. Put the main module on and close it. This shouldn't take longer than 5 minutes. If you haven't changed the module's battery for a while, do so. All important problems are solved…

Pros
  • Very good value for money

Here's how to make the keychain near the end! That's what you want to know.

The case is fully closed, no need to rape! The included screw is too long, you need to shave/grind it a bit. I used a small needle nose pliers and cut off the end of the screw. The screw must be inserted last. Initially this was not the problem, the bottom was solved, the sides were solved. Trust me it's the screw that's causing it. After shaving it a bit, it fits perfectly. For some reason your original screw doesn't fit, at least mine does. Good luck and hope this helps.

  • A sea of positive emotions
Cons

Good quality, fits. The finish differs from the OEM.

I used this cover to repair a 2004 Honda Accord key. It worked great. Remember that you need to be careful when removing the transponder chip from the old key. First, use a tiny flat head screwdriver to pry the small connector out of the slot in the key. There are small cutouts on the sides of the small box where the chip is located to make it easier. Then I had to very carefully cut off the excess plastic around the transponder in the old key and in the end I was able to remove it with needle…

A 2004 Honda Accord EX does not require a transponder slot.

Update 2021-05: Over time, buttons, especially the door opener button, started to stick due to poor fit. When I installed it in a new key fob, the sticky button problem went away. For this reason I changed my rating from 3 stars to 2. This product does not make it clear that if your existing key fob has a transponder chip like my 2004 Honda Accord EX, you will need that transponder chip in a new key fob or you will have serious trouble (may not work, alarm may go off). There is no slot for the…

Just replaced my Accord key case with this one. Another case was hacked. In order to remove the key blade from the original case, I had to repair and virtually destroy what was left of the key case. The easiest way I've found to mount this is to 1) insert the key blade all the way into the holder. 2) Insert the key blade/holder into the back shell. You need to force install to the right place. 3) Insert the e-cube from the original into the front removable shell. Make sure it fits well. 4)…
