Be careful with this product. Find out what you are buying.

Throwing a "green" plastic product in a landfill goes against the goal of producing and consuming biodegradable and compostable plastics in the first place. A lot of people think, well, at least it will break eventually. But in fact, no, most likely it will not break. These specialty plastics require air, moisture and sunlight to properly decompose, and unfortunately landfills tend to bury waste and deprive them of these essential elements.

Pros
  • IDEAL FOR BEVERAGES: Will not soak in beverages and is safe to use in hot and cold beverages, will not break with normal use.
Cons
  • No Instructions

THIS IS BIODEGRADABLE REGARDING THIS ACID COMMENT

They are perfect. I hate paper straws so much because they get soggy and taste papery. POOH. It seems that the plastic has no taste and will not get wet for a long time! THE BEST on the market so far. For a review stating that it isn't biodegradable because acid doesn't break it down, LMAO does a little chemistry to see if GLASS is biodegradable and acid doesn't break it down. Straws don't dissolve in acid, that doesn't mean they aren't biodegradable! Did you know that alcohol attacks plastics,

Pros
  • BIODEGRADABLE: Agave Wrapped Straws, made from Azul Tequilana Weber Agave, reusable and 100% recyclable, reduce the carbon footprint of products.
Cons
  • Doubtful purchase for the elderly

There is a solution, but it cannot be the case.

They arrived open ended and after reading other reviews this seems to be a common problem. There are also concerns that they are not even biodegradable. They look plasticky, but have a brown, translucent appearance and dark brown spots that don't necessarily look good for what you're putting in your mouth. I'm going to try coconut straws, everything I've read sounds promising. If they don't work I come back and edit them, but other than that it's just what it takes. Definitely try metal straws…

Pros
  • UNIQUE: Unique texture and color, flexible, safe for use in hot and cold beverages.
Cons
  • Not sure
