Unpleasant Protein

I'm always willing to try new protein delivery systems, but sometimes they just don't work for me. Too bad I didn't read the ingredients before I ordered it. 24g of protein in a 72g serving? 38g of carbs, including 17g of sugar from organic brown rice syrup and organic cane sugar, is overkill. But sometimes I can turn a blind eye to it when there's flavor and texture. My wife loves it when I make her a banana/peanut butter/protein powder smoothie, and she's not as concerned about sugar as I am,

I TRYED, I REALLY MADE IT, BUT I JUST CAN'T!

I tried the stuff twice. Once in water and once in milk. Both times I mixed 2 scoops with 16 ounces of liquid. Mixes without problems. Unfortunately, both times I couldn't take more than a few sips before wincing. Yes, there's a sweet vanilla flavor, but there's also terrible chemistry. I'm not sure if it's a protein that hasn't been seasoned well or if there's something else in it. If it was a quick shot of 3 or 4 ounces I could squeeze it out once a day.
