Just do it in Wall Plates & Accessories

I've been getting cold in my cheaply built house lately. I immediately felt the traction was reduced by being built into the light switches and outlets facing the windswept canopy. I bought more for the rest of the house. Note: I recommend using masking tape to slightly overlap and glue the spacers for your 2 or 3 light switch or outlet panels. It's tough on arthritic hands, but it was worth it in this 'old' house.

They work well if you're careful

The vents in our house that are against the outside wall let in quite a bit of cold air. So these foam insulation pads were a good solution. They don't stop cold air 100%, but they definitely help and are very easy to install. The only tricky thing about these gaskets is that they are designed to fit all sorts of outlets. If you're not careful, they fall apart very easily. So my advice is to take your time and compress the areas that need to be removed from the pad. Also, buy more pads than you

Partially works

A friend of mine recently had a problem with neighbors smoking weed in a studio in New York that strangely found its way through a shared wall and outlets. After some research we decided on this product. While it works, it doesn't block all odors when there is a vacuum in your device. I tried putting two on top of each other but it didn't work for the top panel. I then tried caulking the bushings with foam and silicone caulk/sealant and putting plugs on the unused bushings. While all of this…

  • Cool product

Will it work for you?

Oops, I screwed up this time. Even with experience in mechanical design I didn't properly look at the problem. If drafts are coming through outlets, I suggest you first find the source of the draft, e.g. B. Inadequate wall insulation, a break, gap or hole in the building's outer cladding. When electrical outlets are designed, not the slightest effort is made to stop the flow of air through them, so you will encounter a very large number of small holes on every outlet. Solutions: 1. You can try…
