🧹 Bissell 12B1 Brushroll: Enhanced Cleaning Power for a Pristine Home Review

Perfect fit and solution to my roll frost problem. Could produce low carpet, high and bare floors by changing vacuum settings with no problems with the roller. Just get your part number to verify it's correct and my installation was up and running in less than 10 minutes.

I have these to replace the brush bar in my BISSELL PowerForce Helix 2191u. Of course, I also had to replace the belt because the broken brush also wore out the vacuum belt. Installation was a little tricky as I had to align the brush with a strap when attaching it. However, once installed, my vacuum ran like new.

The reel was a direct replacement and very easy to install. Because the old pulley had seized, the belt was in poor condition. As a result, I purposefully went to the store to buy a new one. I should have saved a few bucks and some hassle by ordering and replacing both at the same time.

We use the vacuum cleaner a lot. I have to replace the brush roll almost every year or two because the bearings are sticking. Wear and tear, and so of course these rollers suffer from the same problem, but there's no getting around that (not that you can have grease fittings in there and drag grease all over the carpet for the engineers to get stuck with sealed bearings).

This is not an exact replacement but is a recommended optimal size. I ordered a brush roller with the 2 recommended replacement belts and both belts are snapped and broken which I just bought. I think the roller cut the belts because the belt looked like it had been cut. This happened twice so I threw the reel away, broke the straps and bought a newer Helix from Walmart. One good thing about bad experiences is that the old bin fits in the new vacuum if I ever need to replace it. Wasted over $20

I have 3 identical vacuums that use this part. I ordered one to fix and see if it worked well and when it worked I ordered another to fix a second vacuum. The price is probably good as I didn't look around but just hopped up and down. At the second vacuum I put a new roll next to the old one, and when I ran to the post office I came back and the dog chewed off the ends of the new roll and left the old one alone. There's no obvious way to lube the bearing or take it apart, and I don't even know what it's made of.
