It is difficult! - Brackets

Used to replace a wooden mailbox post installed in a window box and secured to concrete. It's solid and would buy again. My only complaint is that it's too small for a 4x4 post, even if you force the open partition to expand. I had to use a hatchet to cut all the corners and a few sides. All in all a good buy for your money.

Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

But they are still working.

At first I had trouble finding these brackets. I've looked at a lot of hardware stores/big stores. Found these at Revain, very happy and bought 4. Installation was easy and they hold fence posts. The metal is thinner than the broken brackets I replaced. My biggest concern is that the angle bolt hole under the tie bolts is inaccessible when installed. So I was only able to tighten 3 of the 4 nuts onto the bolts to attach the bracket to the concrete.

I bought three of these for my patio project. Arrived a week ago but haven't had time to install yet. Left them outside in bad weather and now they are starting to rust. I think I'll get $45 service but what a shame they don't last long. I expect they will fail sooner or later, even sooner in coastal or marine environments. I will try to treat the rust and repaint to extend their life but you shouldn't have done that! As a bonus you only get three of the four fasteners to attach to the base as…
