Awesome replacement remote for the Shield

I bought this Wechip G20 remote to use as a replacement remoter for my Nvidia Shield. This remote does everything that it supposed to do Google assist voice recognition works by holding the mic button down and talking then releasing works in apps such as YouTube by hitting the onscreen mic button and talking into the remote. All the other buttons work perfectly the buttons are clicky and very responsive it made out of plastic and feels a little cheap but this is to me the perfect actually way…

Pros
  • The remote's touchpad is sensitive and responsive, allowing for accurate navigation
Cons
  • The device has an uncomfortable weight and texture, making it unpleasant to use

Didn’t work with some apps

When is worked it was great but it didn’t work with a lot of apps. And with some apps the keyboard wouldn’t popup until I unplugged the remote. Quality wise it was one of the best 3rd party remotes I bought, but I had to return it.

Pros
  • The 2.4G wireless connection ensures a stable and reliable performance
Cons
  • It's not compatible with Windows 10 devices

My only complaints are: the print on the buttons is very dark (hard to see in the dark) and the learn function is only for the power button, according to the little 3 page how-to guide.

Pros
  • It can be used to control a wide range of apps and games
Cons
  • The remote's touchpad has an awkwardly positioned click button

Properly packaged with easy instructions to follow.1st problem after connecting to my Nvidia Shield : it doesn't respond from the distance between my couch and TV which is 10-12 feet away2nd problem the navigation controls in the inner rings are super close to the outer rings. Unless you have fingers of a toddler , I can't imagine any adult using this this remote and not depressing 2 or 3 keys at the same time to navigate left right up or down .Lastly the keyboard function on the underside as…

Pros
  • BACKLIT: The air mouse fully backlit with both side, easily find the correct button even in the dark. Full 45 key Qwerty Keyboard allows easy typing.(Not Compatible with Most Smart TV)
Cons
  • The build quality is subpar, with flimsy buttons and a fragile body

All in all a good remote

It's a good remote. Works well. MY only complaint at all, is occasionally the cursor will pop up on the screen without any prompt. Nothing big at all, just turn it off and your good to go. It only happens every few days. Other than that, it's an awesome replacement for my shield remote that just died.

Pros
  • Its advanced infrared learning feature lets you control multiple devices from one remote
Cons
  • The remote's microphone is not sensitive enough to pick up commands accurately

Works great on my 2018 Shield.

The original used to have a delay and then just stopped working. This one is much nicer, the buttons have a great feel, the performance is flawless. The range is good as well. Its also handy to have the air mouse function. Much better than the original in all aspects. I don't use the voice control, no need but it works.

Pros
  • THIS REMOTE WORKED GREAT FOR A REPLACEMENT FOR MY NVIDIA TV BOX WORK
Cons
  • The voice recognition feature is often inconsistent and unreliable

Functions very well

This review is for the G20 with gyroscopic mouse and mic, which arrived about an hour ago and is attached to my 1st Gen nVIDIA Shield. (The dongle is connected through a powered USB hub). First, two caveats: my Shield didn't automatically reboot, and until I restarted it, the remote behaved oddly. Also, the mouse feature isn't useful for me, so I've deactivated it. That said, after a reboot the remote functions perfectly. Time will tell whether it's durable and has decent battery life. (As…

Pros
  • It is compact and lightweight, making it ideal for travel
Cons
  • The device's receiver is bulky and takes up too much space

A Better Remote For The Nvidia Shield

If you don't like the volume control on the Shield you should seriously give this remote a chance. It has a regular volume control unlike the slider on the Shield as well as a defined mute button. It has a good air mouse for those occasions when you need one and the microphone is the best I've run across so far. The only negative, and it's a minor one, is holding the back button doesn't open settings. But, you can just say 'settings' into the mike, and there you are. The price is good and the…

Pros
  • Electronics
Cons
  • The instructions are confusing and hard to follow

Volume Buttons Don't Program

Sadly, have to return, All buttons would program except vul up and down no matter what I tried so back it goes. Thanks for attention!

Pros
  • VOICE INPUT: Just plug the USB receiver into the device you want to control and use it without any setup.Clicking the voice button and speaking into the microphone will automatically search for the TV show or APP you want, convenient, especially for old people and children.Only support for Google voice assistant on for Android devices, and does not support other voice software platforms.(Not Compatible with Most Smart TV)
Cons
  • It's incompatible with some Android TV boxes

Better than the orignal for Android Shield.

Works pretty well, but I wish there was a button to call up a keyboard. I have found a few apps that need a sign in, but no keyboard is activated and I can't find a way to access form the remote! ?The above review was for the first G20 I bought in June. I bought another one within the last week. The latest one works with the Shield. The voice works for some commands, but I still wish I could call up a keyboard for some sign ins. I am not displeased with my purchases. I HAVE SUBMITTED 2 reviews.

Pros
  • The remote supports multiple languages, making it ideal for non-English speakers
Cons
  • The remote often loses pairing with the device, needing frequent re-pairing

Replacement for crappy NVIDIA Shield remote

I bought this to replace the crappy remote that comes with the NVIDIA shield. It seems to go to sleep and requires too much fiddling to get it to wake up. Will not wake on using the volume feature. The WeChip doesn't have that problem and I can instantly change volume at will. I like that part. What I don't like is the cheap feel, high force needed for the left side of the ring switch and the fact that it always sends a "double click" to the Shield resulting in going back two steps rather than…

Pros
  • It has a built-in gyroscope that allows for accurate cursor control
Cons
  • The build quality is not durable, and it can break easily

good with annoying flaw

Immediately connected and worked as advertised except it seems to have a bug where whatever last button u press it just kind of keeps pressing it nonstop until u either remove the batteries or give a light smack on it. It seems to be random and it's better than no remote I suppose but very annoying.

Pros
  • STRONG COMPATIBILITY: Support system Windows/Android/Mac OS/Linux. Applicable to: Android TV Box/Mini PC/Projector/HTPC/All-in-one PC/TV.(Recharge for many hours and works for several weeks.)(Not Compatible with Most Smart TV)
Cons
  • The device often disconnects from the receiver, causing interruptions
