The bottle holder is very nice, only the color is much lighter than in the picture. A good quality paint is closer to a plain (unpolished) brushed aluminum paint. I can add a photo later, the color seems difficult to photograph, the photos in other reviews give a better idea of the actual color. I was expecting clear coated aluminum to be darker rather than painted and was hoping it would be closer in color to the listing image or at least the natural color of the aluminum.

Saldi, nice color. Goodbye.

Well built, reliable. I ride a hardtail bike (often with a rigid fork too) in rocky, chunky PHX, AZ and have yet to get a bottle out of those cages. Blue anodizing is quality and true to the color you "expect" compared to other blue anodizing. Like many others, I worked very hard to 'decorate' my bike so they had to match. Surprisingly reasonable, IIRC under 60g each.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Some issues

Best Bottle Cage Ever

The Blackburn Mountain Bottle Cage is, in my opinion, the best bottle cage ever. I first came across these wonderful cages in the 1990's and was saddened when my local bike shops and most online shops ran out of stock. I've tried many cages and so far this is the only cage that doesn't warp or drop bottles when going over bumps. The metal is thick enough to resist bending and warping, stiff enough to hold bottles securely, and lightweight. The knurling at the top of the cage also helps keep the

Holds water bottles, great Blackburn lifetime support

I bought this mainly because it was Blackburn. Why? A friend had a bicycle pump that stopped working because the head was bad. It was a Blackburn pump over 20 years old. I called them to order the parts needed to get it working again and they sent me a new head for a pump upgrade free of charge. Since then I've bought their gear whenever I could: they stand behind their products like no other company I know. I also wanted a better color for the water bottle cage as the Planet Bike cage seemed…

Put simply. Quality bottle cage for every ride - on or off road

I bought a Blackburn mountain bike bottle cage (red) to go with the exact same frame that I already have on my entry-level Giant Revel 1. Flat MTB with large frame. When I first bought the bike it had two of these cages (red). The mate who was kind enough to take me to collect my bike commented that he needed a cage. I haven't ridden in 19 years and have forgotten how important two bottles can be on hot days/moderate to long rides. So I gave him one of my cages. Anyway it was the least I could…
