I soaked them in hot water, put petroleum jelly on them and they clicked straight away. Almost worthwhile to keep spare parts in the truck!

NV271 transfer case. They fit perfectly and hold the shifter securely in place. I can't tell any difference between them and the OEM in terms of fit and overall appearance. They are very easy to install, it only takes a second to snap into place. Note that they are directional, with the tapered ends pointing toward the centerline of the vehicle and the flat ends pointing outward toward the left side of the vehicle.

I soaked them in hot water, smeared Vaseline on them and they immediately cracked. Almost worthwhile to keep spare parts in the truck!

Take 2" hose clamps and tighten around the smaller side of the insert to shrink it a little and then let it sit can get them in place much easier.

Installation tip. Use a hose clamp to reduce the size so it slides more easily. While tightening the clamp, use a hair dryer to make the parts softer and more flexible. Wearing leather gloves when heating parts will help avoid burning your hands and making the parts hotter. I saw a YouTube video showing this.
