Description of 🔪 Powerful Precision: Blackwing White Long Point Sharpener Ensures Crisp Pencil Tips

TOOLS WITH HERITAGE – First created in the 1930’s, Blackwing built a cult following that included John Steinbeck and Chuck Jones, who proudly used Blackwings to create Bugs Bunny and many other Looney Tunes characters. Discontinued in the 90’s, we revived the Blackwing brand in 2010 for a new generation of writers, musicians, and others seeking a more natural existence. TWO STEP SHARPENING PROCESS – Our unique pencil sharpener uses a revolutionary two-step sharpening process for a better point. The Blackwing Long Point Pencil Sharpener does this by sharpening the wood first and then the graphite core to make a long, fine point that resists breakage. AUTOMATIC BRAKES – Every sharpener comes with two replacement blades and an automatic brake that prevents over-sharpening so that your Blackwing pencils last longer. COMMITMENT TO QUALITY – Blackwing Long Point Pencil Sharpeners are made with high quality German stainless steel blades and heavy-duty plastic, for the finest construction available. HOW WE GIVE BACK – A portion of the sales from all Blackwing products benefit the Blackwing Foundation, which funds and develops arts and music education at the K-12 level. Your purchase helps provide, among other things, the instruction, learning environment and instruments children need to participate in the Little Kids’ Rock Modern Band Program.

Best sharpener I've ever owned

I've spent so many crayons on pencil sharpeners that break lead I doubt this sharpener is any better but it's great. You use one hole to cut the wood and the other to sharpen the tip. It holds chips until you empty them and only holds chips after one sharpening. It was difficult to open the first time and I saw that it can break if you try to open it from the wrong side, but once opened it was easy to open again. I'm not giving it a star for durability as I've only had it a few weeks, but I…

That's not my favorite.

I want to give this sharpener more stars just because it's a Blackwing product but I don't feel it. One side sharpens wood and the other graphite. Unlike pencil shavings, it doesn't hold much. A bit difficult to open for cleaning. It gives the pencil tip an odd elongated point which I thought would break easily, but it doesn't. The pencil writes well. As long as it holds its sharp edges well, it won't dull or lose its sharpness. The reason I disagree is the inconvenience of double sharpening…

Don't waste your money

I use a variety of small sharpeners with Blackwing pencils. One I bought at a bookstore for a few dollars (pictured right) worked well enough, but I decided to splurge on this Blackwing. Can't believe I paid $19 for this (now $23 for Revain). But the very expensive Blackwing Palomino pencils were worth it. I thought a very expensive sharpener would be the same. Not correct. This is appropriate at best. It has to be better than $5, right? Not quite. In terms of sharpening they are about the…
