Description of πŸ”ͺ Blair 13214 3/8-Inch Dual-End Replacement Spotweld Cutters

Unique 3/8" diameter hardened and precision ground cutting tool that makes removing spot welded body panels fast and easy. Hollow design cuts around weld, thus hardness does not affect tool sharpness. An adjustable depth rod sets the tool so only the outer panel is cut through, leaving the underlying panel undamaged. When one end becomes dull, simply unscrew the cutter from the arbor, and reassemble with the new teeth exposed. With arbor, for use in any 1/4", 3/8", or 1/2" chuck hand held drill.

Won't last. The best equipment for spot welding

I quickly snapped the teeth off the bits. I couldn't get through a point run with the racquet. I'm hoping to return the broken bits for a refund and then find a more durable tool elsewhere.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • A few little things

They work well but the quality is unstable

Works very well but even if you follow the instructions closely sometimes the teeth just fall off. This can be after cutting 100 holes or at the first hole. I get a very inconsistent tool life.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Volume

Great if you use them correctly.

If you use them for their intended purpose they are great. If you try to drill too fast or rock back and forth you will break them every time. Hit the spot weld once or twice with a center punch and pierce.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • You could have chosen a newer model

Fantastic cutting tool.

Surprisingly durable. For me with WD40 and a cheap jiggle drill 5 sides = 150 spot welds. Buy more than you need so you don't hold up your project. At least one additional 3-pack. So when you get that extra pack, place your next order on Revain and it should be delivered before you burn the whole pack.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Almost everything in order

All six cutting heads failed on the first use!

I have used Blair cutting heads for many years. There have always been great results. But this party is NOT STANDARD. Every cutting head fails the first time it is used! The teeth broke off on the first weld. Must be a bad batch. Possibly not properly heat treated. Either too soft or too hard. I've ordered another set. Let's see how they cut.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Some difficulties

These work fine! in Welding Equipment and Accessories

Some tips to extend the life of spot welding tools: Use a drop of cooling oil, make sure the mark or pilot hole is deep enough and the tip on the blade holder is not too blunt, and use a cordless screwdriver /Drills with sufficiently low grip. Teeth snap when the cutter snaps, but a looser grip allows you to adjust the angle rather than hearing the horrible crackle of a broken tooth. When used correctly, these cutters look great!

Pros
  • Durable Test Results
Cons
  • Protection
