Bought as a gift

The little boy we gave him LOVES it. He is 5 years old and needs a little help but will enjoy it for many years to come. Mom is also very happy! I love it and am glad we chose it.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Out of style

but not very useful as a toy

This set is a lot more difficult to put together than I expected. The instructions are completely incomprehensible for children. Even my eldest son, an avid Lego builder, struggles. Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

This toy is very exciting. It got me too involved as a parent. First you have to knock out all the styrofoam pieces and it took my son and I half an hour to start assembling. That's a lot of work! The instructions are quite complicated, and it became difficult even for me. If your child is old enough (maybe around 10 years old), patient and focused, this would be a good rainy day project. The built toy is fragile, so it is not very convenient to play with. My son was too young for this so I…

Pros
  • One year trial version
Cons
  • Available in white only
