I bought two of these devices for my two boats after blowing up the engine 32 miles from shore and my phone was running low on battery, while speaking to the Coast Guard, family members, etc. The device is well made (like all Blue Sea Systems devices) and incredibly cheap. First, the unit I received looks exactly as listed. This is not a 12V outlet that has a USB power adapter plugged into it. The USB ports and the power converter itself are a black, conformally coated module inside the cylinder that you see and install.
