Works great but to be used with thermostat

This heating mat works great as others have said the glue melts over time so I recommend taping it to the floor with flame retardant tape. This heat mat got very hot (I measure 120 at the hottest spot) so I would definitely recommend a thermostat.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Some small things

Adhesive backing peeled off

Adhesive backing broke after 1 week of use and detached from the back panel. I've now taped a sticky sticky pad to the bottom of the tank and a heating pad that doesn't stick anywhere. I have a smaller Blue Spotted heating pad that didn't come loose like that, but I won't be buying another.

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

Has worked for YEARS

EDIT: I got this in 2015 it's now 2019 and I still have it and it's been working great so far and I've been using it 24/7 since I got it (on a dimmer to control the heating power). I can't believe this still works. The glue will melt, so you may need to use duct tape to secure it to the bottom of the tank. It doesn't seem to get as hot as others I've used, but it works well as a secondary heat source.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • New competitors
