🔧 Blum Compact Soft-Close Bluemotion Variable 1-3/8 inch Overlay Hinge Set (4 Hinges) Review

Had to order these as two of my kitchen cabinets had different hinges. Easy to install in existing holes and only requires hinges on the door.

It's not so easy to find exactly this size, but I'm very happy that I found it. They fit right in the circle on my office door. Seems well made - hopefully they will last as long as my originals - 30+ years!

This hinge was searched everywhere for this project. Good that they are available on Amazon. I got here quickly with my Revain Prime membership. So many ways to tweak/adjust them for the perfect top alignment. The soft close is a little useless I guess due to the weight of the upper. Designed for use on vertical cabinet doors.

If you want your cabinet door overlay to be 1-3/8" or more, this is what you want. As with most European style cabinet hinges, the bowl fits in drilled hole on your door, but the other side of the hinge will bolt to the front of the cabinet, not the cabinet edge.A self-centering pilot hole drill will help with this.Once installed, the hinges will work properly.

These hinges were a perfect match for the existing hinges in my house so they were a quick and easy replacement. The soft close feature works well enough that I just replaced one of the two hinges with a plate for a quick and efficient soft close. Please note that the panel closed TOO slowly when replacing both hinges. Originally the plan was to only do the kitchen so with extra steps (only 1x panel now) I replaced all the panels in the house.
