Description of 🌡️ Waveshare BME280 Environmental Sensor: Precise Temperature, Humidity & Barometric Pressure Monitoring for Raspberry Pi and STM32 with I2C and SPI Interfaces

A tiny sensor breakout with BME280 onboard, sensing environmental temperature, humidity, and barometric pressure. It supports both I2C and SPI interfaces, also is compatible with 3.3V/5V voltage levels. Due to its ultra small form factor, low power consumption, high precision with stability, the BME280 Environmental Sensor is suited for applications such as environment monitoring, weather forecast, altimeter, and IoT projects, and so on. Supports I2C (default), configurable slave address. Supports SPI, switch to SPI via I/O setting. Onboard voltage level translator, compatible with 3.3V/5V operating voltage. Comes with development resources and manual (examples for Raspberry Pi/ /STM32)

Not Worth the Money

Based on my observations, this sensor is not accurate and provides inconsistent readings. The only positive attribute is its small size. However, its unreliability makes it unsuitable for any serious projects.

Pros
  • Small size
Cons
  • Inaccurate and inconsistent readings

Works on par with Adafruit BME280

I have this sensor with Adafruit analog on two NodeMCU-32S Adruino processors, using the Adafruit BME280 library and sample BME280 test program with no problems. The Waveshare BME280 with pluggable socket makes this sensor easy to use with any processor. If you need a BME280 in this format, this is for you. Highly recommended.
