It really delivers!

Wow! I'm pleasantly surprised. I'm used to 25 pound monster 12v 30 and 50 amp power supplies for car and stereo displays. This little guy exceeded all my expectations. On the first day out of the box I ran it at 14.2A continuous for just over six hours. Didn't even get warm. Board and components are laid out cleanly. Well done. It has mounting holes but no brackets. Dremel cuts and bends the protrusions. This will void the warranty and is dangerous. There are large capacitors that store large…

$18.99 for 30 amps. is it garbage

I remember (and I'm not that old) when a good PSU cost a fortune, weighed a ton and took up half a table. I remember when switching power supplies were light but noisy as all of this could ruin most radios reception. It's crazy that you can now buy such a small and quiet power supply for less than $20. Of course I haven't tested it on tour, only on a 50 watt FM transceiver, but so far it's working like a champ! No frills. Cheap electricity! and adjustable tension. Personally, I would set the…

Just arrived for built-ins

I installed the power cord and it worked. Easy to tune to 13.8 volts for my radio. Tested for spikes during startup and shutdown. Everything was in a nice smooth flow. I've never jumped above 13.8 which I set. In the morning I'll hook up the radio to see how it behaves under load and with any noise. If so, I'll post it here. After a few months of regular use I am still satisfied. No sign of interference from my radios.

3 years continuous loads and forces!

I wasn't expecting much when I bought my first one over 3 years ago. Since then it has been used constantly with various loads. Not a single problem. It ran cool when powering my 100-watt Kenwood radio and other gear, and the fan only came on once or twice (I didn't find it too loud like the others). It was so reliable that I recently bought another to replace my original if it ever failed. The V-Out adjustment works well and offers easy and smooth adjustment. The DC output is as smooth as any…

Large amateur radio coverage. save your money

For powering the TYT 9800 mobile amateur radio. When transmitting, the radio can consume up to 10 amps. The pulsed nature of the power does not cause any noticeable interference in the radio. It's cleaner than DC in a car without the whine of the alternator. Be careful not to let the stock float. Ground the power rail to eliminate noise and this $20 power supply will save you hundreds of dollars over a serious DC ham radio power supply. Does this thing last 5 years? It's only $20. Pull yourself

Works well for my RC needs!

I am very happy with this purchase! I bought it to power an RC charger. My charger actually has dual AC/DC power supplies. I have two. Both power supplies failed. However, the devices work perfectly with a DC power supply. I will be using this on my home charger. I was skeptical that this would work well, but so far everything is working well. Everything works as shown in the pictures - no cables. You have to connect it yourself. There are many videos on youtube. I cut a three-wire cable from a

Very reliable power supply. UPDATED February 2018

Excellent power supply. For HF or CB I would suggest a genuine Mega Watt branded power supply due to its advanced filtering capabilities. For only 2 m and more these power supplies work perfectly. The tension was stable. The fan only turns on when needed. I have not tested RFI from this device. I was concerned because I couldn't hear the fan, but the PSU wasn't even warm. Once, during a very long QSO at 50+ watts, the fan finally turned on. It was very quiet, but quickly cooled the power…

Okay, build quality could be better

Good, build quality could be better. I decided to open one and photograph the inside. This power supply uses good old fashioned half-bridge topology with voltage doubler and passive secondary rectification, this unit doesn't even have a passive PFC so keep the ones in the EU in mind if the police ever break into your home. The xdLine filter consists of 2 Y capacitors and one X capacitor, there is no input varistor. The bridge rectifier is a GBU808, it has no heatsink which can be a problem when
