This item is very, very fragile. And the filter does not filter out garbage, soil, etc. well. I always have to pass drinks through an additional filter before I can drink them. I've been using it for several months now and the more I use it the more dissatisfied I am with just the product itself. The jug comes out of the handle and if you even tilt the metal handle the wrong way you won't have the jug anymore . This is not a very comfortable holder. The glass is weak, as other reviewers have pointed out, but don't let that stop you (especially if you're on a budget and really want to enjoy the impressive flavor of a French Press). Just follow the instructions on the packaging which says to heat the jar first and don't pour the water right after boiling.
