☕ Bodum Bistro Shatterproof French Press Coffee Maker and Pavina Outdoor Tumblers Set (34 Ounce French Press + 2-Pack 8 Ounce Tumblers, Black) Review

I received a coffee maker with a screw unscrewed from the handle. Impossible to use without spilling coffee or holding a hot coffee maker without gloves. I didn't expect the cork bottom to be removable. Nice mugs...junk coffee maker not worth the price.

This is what I've been waiting for. Worst French press I've ever had. The rubber seal of the press makes grinding the coffee very easy. I used it for the first time today and literally had to run coffee through my old fancy coffee sock to drink coffee without grinding the coffee.

Really don't like it. The coffee beans flow out no matter how slowly you push the plunger. It's also plastic, which I didn't pay attention to. To be honest, I prefer glass because it doesn't warp when you apply heat like that. I would spend a little more and take the jar. Just not worth the price in my opinion.

It's good to have an unbreakable French press, but the press mechanism itself is awful in return. From the start it never held a perfect seal like wire mesh presses and allowed the coffee grounds to return to the liquid. If they replaced the press with a typical metal wire press, that would be ideal.

After our old and trusted Bodum French Press coffee maker broke, we decided to buy a shatterproof version. It claims to be safety glass, but make no mistake, it's not glass, it's PLASTIC - lighter and cheaper plastic. To make matters worse, the press's screen doesn't keep the ground coffee in the bottom of the "glass" container. See attached photo. Big disappointment. Wouldn't recommend it to any friend. =

This set is ideal for preparing coffee both indoors and outdoors. Almost every morning I boil water, grind beans, take the coffee maker and mug out onto the patio, and start my day. I wish the cups were a little over 8 ounces each, but that keeps me from drinking more than 16 ounces a day; which is not bad! The whole set is unbreakable, I believe it's made of SAN plastic and made in Portugal! It doesn't leave an aftertaste that I've experienced with other plastic cups.
