Not too short for F01/02

Does not match exact length for F01/02, 2 inches shorter, leaves hood open 30 cm. They are very easy to install, just need a small flat head and 1 minute R&R. But now my hood opens 1 foot lower making it difficult to access the firewall.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Volume

Failed after three months

easy to assemble and prevents the hood from falling down. Just bought her. hope they hold up. OEM BMW racks failed after 10 years. Updated 5/17/22: They worked great for three months. Now they don't support the hood when it's open. Maybe the OEM is worth it.

Pros
  • practical article
Cons
  • so far so good

Great price plus great performance

Great price compared to what I would have to pay to buy from a dealer. The dealer ordered almost double the cost of the pistons themselves to fit them at a ridiculous price. They were like new. It's been so long since they haven't worked on my car that I was surprised when the Pistons lifted the hood without my help!

Pros
  • There's something to it
Cons
  • Minor issues

Looking Good: Replacement Parts

Called Fast Revain to return these. They installed fairly easily. But they were frozen in the open position and didn't move. I didn't want to break the pillar or roof mounts by pulling too hard to close the hood. Finally I removed each post from the top and gently tapped the end with a rubber mallet, reassembled them and by pulling down hard they finally came loose. As long as they work well.

Pros
  • Not fit for purpose
Cons
  • There are defects
