This is my fourth purchase and I love it. I gave one But the last one I bought, just like the rest, wasn't sharp enough. It was difficult to use. I should have returned it but I didn't. So I'll order another one and hope it works better.

I had the exact same mandolin for 20 years! It was the best I've ever used so I was very happy to find another. And guess what? It's just as great as the first one I had. Icing on the cake. You can throw it in the dishwasher when you're done with it! Plus, this one saves in a tiny, tiny vertical space. The bottom section has room for everything you need and saving space is everything to me! Really great product!

Like a few other reviewers, I got tired of tuning and restoring the OXO mandolin. I watched a few videos about Borner and was hooked. This mandolin is easy to use and clean, has many online video tutorials, the food grab handle is better designed than OXO, and the different blades work as they should. I want the "pen" to be stored more securely. I haven't been able to make "coins" with tougher veggies like carrots, but julienned ones work great. Tomatoes really cut!

At first I thought that I would not like this purchase because it was difficult for me to cut carrots. But after watching a few demo videos on youtube I tried again and to my amazement it worked like a dream (you have to pierce the veggies with the holder and move evenly from the very top of the platform to the blade - don't get too close to the blade).
