Unusable. Worked at 2.75 inches before snapping. Used at the correct router speed with a Kreg router table. Didn't ram, tug, or push the workpiece hard, and held it with a pinboard at a steady, slow pace to keep it against the fence. DO NOT buy if you don't want to waste your time and money buying another one after less than 1 minute use.
High quality router bit for unobtrusive attachment of frames and other pieces of wood that can be hung flush with the wall. The packaging is over the top, too much plastic for a small piece, but it holds up and will never rattle like my other pieces. I drilled 3/8" holes to the correct depth so I can't vouch for its sinkability, but it made very smooth cuts in the keyhole nut. Bosch rules.
It's a simple thing. Simple things usually solve simple problems. This one works great. I have cut holes in both softwood and hardwood and they have come out perfectly every time: there are no ragged edges in pine, no broken fibers even in figured maple. I want the tools to be just that so I can focus on the creative process and not dealing with a cumbersome tool. I'm using it on a Bosch 1617 router but doubt it makes a difference.
