False pads eligible for replacement

These are front brake pads instead of rear. This is the only reason for the bad rating. These are the correct pads for the front.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Big and bulky

The included pad retainers did not fit

This was a little frustrating as I wanted to use the new included pad retainer hardware and the retainers did not match the caliper. So I had to use the original.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Compatibility

Additional parts do not fit!

Pad retention springs didn't fit my 2012 Equinox, they were too small. I had to use old feathers. There were no new rear anti-squeak pads in the kit so I had to use the originals. The pins on the back of the pad did not match the original anti-squeak pads so they had to be adjusted. If you don't make any change, there will be a problem installing pads. I would not buy this set again.

Pros
  • Great Price
Cons
  • Great Price

Try a different brand. The hardware is out of specification.

They were good value and I ordered them partly because of the name on the box. These are the front pads for our 2011 Chevy Equinox. The pads fit, but only if you can reuse the OEM hardware. NONE of the rails/clamps included in the kit will fit. Sliding plates (U-pieces) aren't even close to OEM. The inner bore is so narrow that it doesn't even protrude beyond the rotor. If they were installed they would be destroyed and make a terrible noise as the rotor would just drag behind them all theโ€ฆ

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • I will add later

These are typical pads that fit and work well. I ordered them at a slightly higher price because they came with brake oil and new metal adapters. Adapters are unfortunately too small for 2105 GMC Terrain (see photo). When used, they constantly rub against the rotors. I'm glad I caught it before I completely finished the first page. I ended up having to use old metal adapters (picture of old and new included to show new ones are too small). This pretty much defeats the purpose of paying extraโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Best in their niche

2nd shoe was not an easy landing. Something has disturbed the facility.

It has been 3 months since I installed it on my Elantra. They stop the car, they work. However. It was interesting to install them. Firstly the pad is a bit wider than the original and there was a lip on the rotor so there was rubbing noise at first until the top of the pad wore off a bit. 2nd shoe was not an easy landing. Something was preventing the installation. Finally found out what it was. Look at the picture I've attached. The extra piece of metal in that corner kept him from bumpingโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • New competitors have appeared
