Large Subby universal bit.

Nothing bad to say. Works like any other black oxide bit (which I prefer to cheaper titanium coated alternatives). For a thin broom I would recommend a metal hole saw. Dewalt makes a decent one for just over $10.

Pros
  • Last 50 percent longer than HSS
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Good quality drill bit at an attractive price

I only needed this drill bit for a few holes, didn't need to get the highest quality. I assumed that Bosch would pay attention to the good quality of the products and was not disappointed. They appear to be high quality and well made. Tip: When buying a drill, always look for "high-speed steel”. Carbon steel bits are cheaper but short lived, especially in metal.

Pros
  • Speed spiral design for drilling three times faster than standard drill bit
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Decent quality and ease of use

Not sure if it would help but it was a lot cheaper than alternatives. After pre-drilling 1/4" and then 1/2", I drilled two 2" x 2" x 1/4" steel wall tubing using plenty of wax lube and at the lowest speed of the drill press. was installed in the hole , the quality of the hole was good and I could probably use the drill again for additional holes.

Pros
  • Easier drilling, lower heat and longer drill bit life
Cons
  • Expensive
