After 4 weeks in a boat exposed to the weather it still works great. The volume doesn't seem to make any difference in quality or loudness, but there is a decent blue light on the floorboards. I'm impressed with the waterproof design.

Pros
  • Stable test results
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

One channel not working

I bought this amp for my Kicker 12KMTED floorstanding speakers. I have a Wetsound EQ driving the amp and I'm only going to get one channel to work. I fixed everything by isolating it from channel 1 as failed. As far as I have read, all settings are correct. Has anyone else had problems with just one channel output, or do I just have a bad amp?

Pros
  • Looking forward to it

  • Some errors

Build a sound system like a BOSS!

I used it on my boat to drive two Boss 4x10 4 ohm speakers, each rated at 400w peak power and 200w RMS. The Boss 800W amplifier works flawlessly and keeps those 2 speakers filling the boat with music. I can turn my stereo on full blast, as loud as possible, and the sound is perfect. No distortion. It's amazing! I also completed this system with a self-contained 800W subwoofer. Delighted with the performance of this Boss 800W amp!

  • Easy Setup
Cons
  • Sad Equipment

Great amp for the price - PLEASE READ THE UPDATE!

Great amp for the price. Bought this along with a pair of Boss MRWT69 wakeboard speakers for my RZR. This gives both enough power and they get louder than I'll ever need without distortion. I've washed it off a couple of times with a pressure washer, nothing seems to bother me. I recommend. TO UPDATE! The amp died after a few months of use, never been under water but sprayed it with a garden hose a couple of times. In the end I decided on a sports amplifier from JL Audio Power, which has worked

Garbage. Non-Marine

Used for boats that are parked in the driveway most of the time and rarely used. A channel is now blown. "Marinated" front full bs I installed it under the dashboard where there is no moisture. There are no gaskets around the openings for cables or adjustments, and nothing is sealed on the back. The rubber cuff for adjustments dries out and twists. The board itself is not sealed and looks very flimsy and dated. I had a boss radio that also died and now it goes to the amp. Not impressed. For a…

The sound is great and once again I found it complicated.

After spraying compliant spray on the circuit board of an old home receiver I figured it might survive outdoors with overhead protection at my outdoor tiki bar but after 6 months it stopped working. 120v outdoor amps are an unmet need, can't believe there aren't any products in this category. And to power a marine amplifier, there are no external 12V power supplies with an output rating of more than 5 amps. You can run the speaker wire through an outside wall, but then you'll need wireless…
