Latches do not open well, rust quickly

Latches are very difficult to manipulate if you have small hands. It took me both hands to open it which is difficult when I also need one hand to control the dog. The same experience when it rusts fairly quickly. The bad news is that my 60 lb lab feed mix managed to snap the cord where it got rusted and escaped the garden. Neighbor found him 15 minutes later. As I live in a high traffic area this might be a different story. I won't buy this again.

Works great for me in training and behavioral aids

I use this to tie my two dogs (35 and 55 pounds) to a very secure base. One end of this clip goes into the ground bar, the other I use to secure the middle of the second 20 foot leash that I attach my dogs to at both ends. The clips for opening the back, which another reviewer mentions, are to prevent accidental opening. This wire seems to last about 4-5 months in New England weather, after which it fails where the wire is pressed against the terminal. Over the average service life of a cable…

    The cover didn't hold up.

This tie has many advantages. He's strong enough. It has a good spring dampener that helps cushion the impact of a dog reaching the end of the leash. It is very long what I was looking for in my application. Hooks have a strange attachment method that is difficult to get used to. I bought the tie in January, it's now mid-March and I'm still not used to it. The main reason I give two stars is that the tie's plastic cover didn't hold up at all. We're not even three months old and it's cracked and

Impractical closure for learning and behavioral aids

I bought this because our yard isn't fenced in yet and we have 3 dogs that weigh between 40 and 80 pounds. I was concerned that my husky pup would grow into this huge dog because she was growing like weeds, so I figured it would be appropriate for her. It's definitely hard work! The clasps are really good as dogs can't accidentally open them while playing and they don't get stuck open like normal clasps. However, when the clasp is wet, it becomes difficult to open. This winter it was even…

for parents of three arm weightlifting pets

Well I usually follow reviews but this looked perfect for my 100lb gentle giant dog not to let him roam while I work nearby. He stood quietly while I tried to open that suction cup by using two hands and a third hand to slip the ring in and it was almost impossible. Removing the ring is even more difficult if the dog is breathing heavily. My fingers still hurt. I'm pretty sure this monster will be back before I can even see it, it rusts just looking at it. (I can't see how to secure it if it's…
