Bought these to hold the lid of a tool box. As it turned out, I only needed one for the job. It just means I have to come up with a job for the one I have left. Works perfectly.

Didn't work with my Tesla Model 3. The legs are too strong and when I unlock the trunk it opens with great force and shakes the car. Too bad I waited too long for the installation. The return window is closed.

If you are looking for an alternative to the Strongarm 4129 for your Model 3 trunk, this lift support will not work. It's too strong and starts the trunk and shakes the whole car. Wait for the stock you want to appear. Trust me I've already tried.

One end of the rod unscrews normally, the other end does not. Tried for so long. I just have to unscrew it to put the spring in there. I know it can pucker because the other rack handled it just fine, but I also need a second rack and am having no luck. Must return.

Looks like a good pair of spacers but be careful choosing the right buoyancy, 155 pounds was too much buoyancy for my tool box lid application. One rack was enough to lift him, two was too many. Using 1 spacer is a good way to prevent the lid from warping over time. In return, they get about 55 pounds.

Terrible product! With plastic ends that came off as soon as I installed them, it was just amazing! I'd highly recommend looking at metal ends instead of machined plastic! There is also no way to adjust the force/resistance in these jambs, I had to pull/push incredibly hard to close and then the window it was attached to flew out with such force that I now have the hinge must be replaced on the tailgate! Then he removed the plastic tip from the posts.

I've used these to replace some of the lighter ones I've bought earlier that didn't do the job. Where I used to struggle to raise the top of my boat's engine bay with a pair of 60lb stays, the top now opens with a pair of 100lb stays with the slightest upward pressure, it's amazing. My only BOXI suggestion would be to make the rack weight calibration clearer, maybe put a sticker on the rack after it's gassed? It would be easy to confuse the new with the old.
