Emotional film in my review

I am a homeschooled mom. My 12 year old is reading The Book Thief right now, so I wanted him to see the boy's perspective on how badly the Jews were treated.

Pros
  • Saw the movie, didn't get the book great
Cons
  • The heroes of the film are not alike since they live in a different time and place.

Soulful but worth a look

We loved this film, also with its disturbing story about how the Nazi regime treated other people and the innocence of a child thrown into this world.

Pros
  • Seen with teenage granddaughters! So sad in the end but it was true!
Cons
  • The video stopped after 10 minutes. This is a very good movie. I've seen it before

A touching story that's over the top for teenagers.

My son is a huge WWII fan and this book perfectly captures the pain and suffering of war through a childhood friendship. Highly recommended.

Pros
  • I cried at this film, there are terrible people in this world.
Cons
  • A great movie

Cinema at its best, about humanity at its worst.

A difficult and uncomfortable film to watch. It is very good. We need to watch movies like this to remind ourselves of what humanity is capable of. This film also sheds light on the plight of the Nazi soldiers. Some of them were of Jewish origin and had to denounce their family members or face the consequences. I haven't seen a single film that deals with this topic. This is the kind of movie that changes you for better or worse, hopefully for the better. A film worthy of being on Schindler's…

Pros
  • I showed this film to my world history class and all I can say are tears at the end of the film!
Cons
  • The film glosses over uncomfortable topics and doesn't encourage viewers to think critically.

I dare to go through this film without a box of tissues.

This film was recommended to me by my 15 year old grandson. He is in his third year of German. His class offers 1 movie per week to explore their culture, history and wars, you name it. This movie is sooooo sad, I won't be so free to listen to my grandson's recommendations

Pros
  • a great movie
Cons
  • The film fails to reveal the complexity of the historical and social issues it raises.

What an emotionally devastating film

Why? Why? I just can't understand this whole situation. Holocaust, Nazis. This movie is incredibly sad. My daughter wanted to see it when they were studying the Holocaust at school. I had already seen this and warned her that it was an emotional outburst. I cried for a week after seeing it.

Pros
  • I would recommend watching that. People need to know what happened.
Cons
  • This movie made me sick. All people are equal. I pray that whoever watches this will take it as a LESSON to be kind to others. WORLD

This excellent film shows another facet of the Holocaust in Germany. This story is beautifully told through the eyes of an eight-year-old German boy whose Nazi father was sent from aristocratic life in Berlin to an outpost that happened to be located next to a Nazi wartime Jewish camp. follow you to the end of your days.

Pros
  • Very good movie but terrible ending
Cons
  • Blatant historical inaccuracies make this film unwatchable

tear - my rating

My daughter who is homeschooled is studying WWII and I have selected a few films for her to watch in addition to her studies and this was one of them. Take out paper napkins.

Pros
  • Great story with great historical references
Cons
  • The plot of the film is predictable and lacks depth.

Very sad! - My review

Such a wonderful story! The ending is so sad! Not for the faint hearted! Beautiful depiction of children surviving the Holocaust on both sides!

Pros
  • I love this movie 🥲
Cons
  • The film may be too intense for children under a certain age.

Spooky and disturbing.

I stumbled upon this by accident and decided to take a look. Shows the shocking reality of the horrific camps, and the ending is simply heartbreaking.

Pros
  • Good
Cons
  • Great movie but not for kids.

Tragedy of the Holocaust

OMG I won't spoiler but this teaches us the lesson that young children see, hear and ultimately make decisions who are so innocent because they can't understand the full impact of these crimes and atrocities, so incredibly heartbreaking but the story it must be told, sad as it may be, in the most direct form

Pros
  • One word to describe this film: Amazing
Cons
  • The film perpetuates harmful stereotypes about Jews and Germans.

The Boy in the Striped Pajamas is about the death of innocence. Asa Butterfield is like any little boy, he just wants to play with other kids. However, this is not possible as he lives in a remote complex while his father, David Thewlis, an SS officer, runs the concentration camp. Everything changes when Butterfield escapes his home, finds his way into the camp and meets a Jewish boy, Jack Scanlon. In the process, he gradually uncovers the truth about Nazi Germany. The film plays on…

Pros
  • I love this movie, I cry every time. The goods came quickly, the packaging and the goods are not damaged. Thanks.
Cons
  • The film can be emotionally draining and leave viewers depressed.

Very bad ending

This is a popular children's book. Attention, at the end of this book a little German boy puts on a concentration camp uniform and ends up in a gas chamber. I've seen dozens of films about WWII. I find this the most disturbing and can't believe it's being forced on children. This is historical fiction. At least Anne Frank's diary was factual, and this book ends with the admission that she died in Auschwitz. She did not show how she went into the gas chamber. She is said to have died of typhus…

Pros
  • we need it now
Cons
  • The film downplays Nazi atrocities and the experiences of Holocaust survivors.

POWERFUL / MOVING: my rating

I recommend this movie. A strong, touching and touching film. By the way, if you are ever in Washington DC, you must visit the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. You WILL NOT LEAVE without being touched (even shocked) and without shedding tears again as you learn more about anti-Semitism and the horrors that have taken place in Europe against the Jewish people. Never forget these atrocities.

Pros
  • I have seen this film several times and can only recommend it.
Cons
  • The Boy in the Striped Pajamas (2020) DVD will not play on my DVD player. Please send me one that actually plays thanks abe harris jr.

The best must in my rating

Most films about World War II deal with German aggression. But what happened in the country before it was demolished? How did the citizens live and react to the horrors of their government? This film offers poignant (and seldom seen) information on the subject. Bruno is a little German boy who lives a typical 8-year life, unaware of the horrors around him and abroad. Early on, his father (an obvious "Aryan") moved to the country, much to Bruno's dismay. He is all alone with his sister and his…

Pros
  • The message in the plot is consistent with today's news report.
Cons
  • The film may not be appropriate for people who have experienced trauma related to the Holocaust or Nazi Germany.

Historical "must have " for everyone

Everyone must have seen this film. A great insight into a terrible time in history when suffering was unimaginable. Great for kids and adults, all ages.

Pros
  • My daughter read this book - she is a bookworm. Great book for teenagers.
Cons
  • The film's content is heavy and sad, which may not be suitable for all viewers.

A good introduction to the Holocaust for children

This film is beautifully made. One falls in love with the innocence of the two boys, which makes the tragedy even more painful for the viewer. The film does a good job of introducing young children to the horrors of the Holocaust without going into the horrific details. I recommend reading the book with the kids first and then watching the film.

Pros
  • Very sad but interesting book.
Cons
  • The tone of the film is oppressive and hopeless which can be difficult to watch.

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A great film about a child, but not for children.

Set during World War II, a story is set through the innocent eyes of Bruno, the eight-year-old son of a concentration camp commandant, whose forbidden friendship with a Jewish boy on the other side of the camp fence has surprising and unexpected consequences. Consequences. This is a story that will break the heart of anyone who sees it. With few exceptions, all people should watch this film to better understand the horrors of hate. Children should not be exposed to this. It should only be seen…

Pros
  • special movie
Cons
  • The film is not educational or informative about the Holocaust, allowing for creative freedom with historical accuracy.

Heartbreaking - my new review

I teach this book to my 8th grade ELA class and we always end the class with a movie. We all love him as much as you can love this devastating film.

Pros
  • I show this to my eighth graders after our Holocaust section. A great movie!
Cons
  • The film is not worth the price of Blu-ray and digital formats

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great! The end touches our sympathies.

This is a really good movie, worth watching. Despite some of the story's limited credibility, some people will want to see it a second time. Why? The weaknesses in the plot, such as the lack of security at the camp fences and the accidental excavation under the fence near the end of the plot, are outweighed by the film's great merits. This allows us to suspend our suspicions. Friendship is created through human will, emotion and interaction and not through ideology, propaganda and lies. So when

Pros
  • Worth seeing with family
Cons
  • Ese disco nunca me funciono. NO
