Frayed edges and thin metal

I've been knitting with some old shuttles for over 40 years and wanted extra bobbins as the new ones work with my old shuttle. Decided to book an extra shuttle for a friend who wants me to teach her. Disappointed with this transfer. It's a thinner metal and the sides feel very rough. It works, but I'm sticking with my old shuttles. I'm not even sure I want to give this to my boyfriend.

Pros
  • Item Weight: 0.03125 lbs
Cons
  • Can't remember but there was something

Excellent tatting hook

I have different types of tatting hooks and this is one of my favorite ways of working because I can change the colors with different spools instead of just shooting one color. and rewind the thread. If you buy one of these, be aware that it may take some time to get used to. I found the hook spring tension was a little tight and limited the spool. A small adjustment and now everything works great! The price was reasonable.

Pros
  • Material: cotton
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Degraded quality

I have Boye shuttles that are over 20 years old and I use them regularly. They are made in the USA and I love them. I lost one of mine so I recently ordered a replacement. The quality is significantly worse. I just checked out the shuttle and it was made in China. The edges are rough and sharp while my old Boye shuttle was smooth. The metal is obviously thinner. If I can use the new shuttle at all, I'll have to file the edges so I don't cut myself or my thread. Boy you might make your shuttles…

Pros
  • Made in China
Cons
  • Obsolete model
