Description of BraceAbility Thumb Splint: Immobilize & Stabilize Thumb Joints for Arthritis, Trigger Thumb, Tendonitis & Sprain Relief - Small Right

SIZING: To choose your size, carefully measure the circumference around your thumb knuckle at the widest point, in inches. Size LARGE LEFT fits your left hand and thumb knuckle circumferences between 3"-3 1/2". IF BETWEEN SIZES, ORDER THE SMALLER SIZE. Brace prevents thumb flexion and extension, helping alleviate pain associated with post-op recovery, arthritic thumbs, De Quervain’s tenosynovitis, gamekeeper's thumb, skier’s thumb, osteoarthritis, trigger thumb, ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) injuries, fractures, dislocations, sprains, etc. Saddle joint immobilizer can be worn beneath gloves and throughout the day for support while typing or during low-impact exercises and activities, for example. Rigid thumb splint is made out of a latex-free, perforated polyamide plastic and an elastic / medical-grade Velcro wrist strap, making it both durable and waterproof. To eliminate any discomfort throughout the day, a soft universally sized polyester undersleeve and extra padding is included to prevent the MCP thumb splint from rubbing or chafing against your skin.

If you have small thin hands this probably won't work for you

I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and have been battling pain in my thumb, wrist and hand for a while. I wanted something less bulky and let the rest of my fingers move. My only problem with braces is that they are too big. I have very small skinny hands, ring size 4.5. I knew this could be a problem. The strap is well made and I'm sure it would have helped if my hands weren't so small.

The best thumb splint at any price!

Really great support. It's easy to put on and take off, and if you want, you can wear it without sleeves, so you don't have to take it off when swimming, washing your hands, etc. I had a problem with my left thumb tendon. I wore it almost continuously for 3 weeks and my thumb was able to rest and heal. I even wore it to my workout. I would highly recommend it over other thumb splints for its efficiency and comfort! Most of the time I forgot I was wearing it. I'm so glad I found this at Revain!

Good design, very comfortable

I wasn't sure when ordering the plastic brace. However, I think this is exactly what I need. This prevents me from flexing my thumb where the pain is greatest. I tried without the fingerless glove but it felt weird on my hand. I used a glove and it's perfect. When I measured I thought it might be too tight, but the instructions were easy to follow and I thought it was perfect. I don't know if I can get an extra glove - I'll see and see - because I have cats and when I try to pet them with this…

My CMC joint needs support

I'm trying to write reviews of products that have been of great use. I had my hand x-ray because. I had severe pain at the CMC joint site. It turned out that the two bones did not match. The doctor told me that I have to wear a corset for 2 to 6 weeks and sleep in it every night. I bought some braces and took them to the doctor. He said that these and another were very good braces. I chose this brace because it's lightweight, easy to use for everyday tasks, and easy to clean. I highly recommend

SMS relief! - Finger Splints

This is the best, least bulky and best value CMC splint I could find. After a full 9 hour day at the computer I had no pain. All the other bandages I've tried don't offer enough support, or there are too many velcro straps, or it's a full forearm brace, or it's very expensive. I had to file down some of the rough edges and I added trimmings from the provided cushion to some high friction areas to personalize the fit. I was a little worried about how the plastic piece would fit my wrist, but…

Perfectly customizable.

Perfectly adaptable. Thanks to all the previous reviews I was able to make an informed decision. When it arrived it could be used with a cloth glove but I wanted to use it without. this and addressing some of the shortcomings noted by others. 1) First I wanted to expand some of the edges for convenience. I used an air solder repair station set at 230°C and a 4 fan setting, using the center tip to heat the edges section by section. I then used pliers to crease the edges. The result can be seen…

My Swim Splint - Medical Supplies

I have a thumb splint from my doctor. When I asked about the swim she said I could take it off but I wouldn't use my right hand much and be very careful. Well, I tried swimming that way, but after a short while it hurt too much. So I went to Revain looking for a thumb splint that could handle the pool. I haven't been to the pool yet, but if the velcro paint doesn't dissolve in the water, she really isn't afraid of water. While it's a lot more comfortable than it looks and than I expected, I…

Overpriced product for what it is and/or contains

I really like that it immobilizes my "MCP hinge" that's why I bought it so that it would at least serve its function, the movement of my thumb. That it's not afraid of water is a plus, but wearing an orthotic without the black forearm it comes with is quite uncomfortable. Mainly because the edges are poorly finished and/or can have a smooth bevel (beveled edge) as opposed to a straight edge which is sharp enough to be a nuisance, so the waterproof aspect of the staple is somewhat lacking in…

Doesn't fix CMC/saddle connection

As I'm between sizes I ordered two. None of them helped immobilize my CMC joint. With a smaller clamp that fit me like a glove (fits really well!), I was still able to move my thumb back and forth about 1-1/2 inches (tight with the Velcro, but at an acceptable level). ). If the velcro was tightened to severe discomfort, my thumb could become immobilized so that it could only move back and forth about 1/2 inch. But no one, including me, could ever withstand that tension on the bracelet. In…
