Branded Hard Drive - Works great

I bought this hard drive to replace the standard 80GB model which burned out after so many years of use. The Latitude series laptops (the D620 in my case) were designed to be modular, so the actual process of replacing an old device was straightforward. Disconnect the caddy from the drive and reconnect the new one - plug it in. I suspect that the item description "Brand" here on Revain simply means you can get one of the many many branded discs that the seller stocks. I have the Seagate 500GB…

Pros
  • Works great for me
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

OK, no problem best in Computers & Accessories

No problems so far. No noise, no click. I'm pretty picky when it comes to hard drives. It worked great on my Dell Latitude D630. There was some concern on the sides as to whether this system would take up 500GB. My son uses this machine and I have to say it's the most durable system in my menagerie. He's been on the rise since July 2003, when he was forced to commute three hours twice a day by bus from New York and Pennsylvania for five years.

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Appearance

Apple For Apple, IBM For IBM

The computer I bought this for had an Apple hard drive. I'm not a computer expert, but it seems to me that after a short time there will be compatibility problems. And they were! This 250GB hard drive broke before I had it for a year. Now I have this hard drive and it seems to work very well. If I need another one, I know where to get it. And who knows. Maybe I can fix my other laptop.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Only available in black

More much-needed storage space

I have a Dell Latitude E5400 with a 160GB factory hard drive. After two years of study, heavy use for photos and videos, and dozens of apps installed, the original drive was 90% full. Even after regularly archiving large files to external drives, I've never been able to keep up with the times! After I bought this CD I had to put it down for a while to keep up with school. I then discovered that a very good conversion kit I bought with it had software that wouldn't mirror the old drive to the…

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

Works well - finally

Advertised as Western Digital HD but is actually Hatachi (which is fine). I replaced my old 120GB HD drive with a 500GB in my Dell Latitude D830 as I was running out of storage. There was some difficulty cloning the new drive with the EZ upgrade kit (which I also bought from Revain - the problem isn't the new hard drive) but it finally worked when I got a new software patch from Apricorn . Overall the drive works well but response times and startup seem slower than my old drive despite both…

Pros
  • GOLS certified

  • Not as thick as other picks
