Motorcraft fakes

I just redid all my glasses and nozzles, I was thinking about replacing glow plugs too. I installed them in the spring and it started fine all summer (never a problem in warm weather), once the weather got colder and glow plugs were needed it wouldn't start. I removed the valve covers and ALL 8 were bad. Luckily I saved all the old glow plugs and they were all in good condition.

Pros
  • nice thing
Cons
  • dubious purchase for old people

Genuine OEM parts packaged as shown

These were genuine OEM parts in Motorcraft packaging at a reasonable price. I paid someone $300 to put it in my 1997 International 7.3L turbo diesel and it started on the first try in cold weather. IN AUGUST I had to use the block heater for an hour at 80 degrees! So convenient that you can start your car at any time! If they don't last I can revisit them, or if they last longer than expected I can revisit them. I'm happy at the moment.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Minor repairable

OEM Glow Plugs are the BEST

When you are replacing glow plugs, OEM is what you want and need! I've used Autolite and others and it's been 2 or 3 winters. Then I have to repeat the process again. My last Motorcraft spark plug set lasted 6 years. They are made in Ireland by Ford, not in China like cheap imitations. If you factor in labor and gaskets, it's better to use OEM. Simply put, you get what you pay for and there's a reason Chinese parts are cheap. You can save parts and invest a lot of labor or use quality parts and

Not Motorcraft Glow Plugs Don't be fooled

They are advertised as cheap OEM Motorcraft Glow Plugs, THEY ARE NOT A MOTORCYCLE! When I received these glow plugs I expected them to be Motorcrafts which is what I paid for. Considering they were advertised as Motorcraft I had no suspicions when they arrived in a white box. Now I know better, Motorcraft glow plugs only come in individual Motorcraft packages as you see in the "picture" and not in white boxes. Not knowing any better I installed them and figured I'd be fine, no more than 2…

$10,000 story and possible lawsuit underway

Don't buy, they're not worth it. I bought them at the end of May 2018. On October 1, 2018, I heard a noise one morning and immediately turned off the engine. I removed the valve cover and started touching everything to see if the rocker or spring was broken. Then I noticed that the glow plug wire was loose. Then I noticed that the wire was still attached to the plug, but it was only attached to the insides of the plug, and the grommet was still screwed into the head. I pulled the bushing out…
