🔧 Briggs & Stratton Spark Plug Wrench 5402K: A Must-Have Tool for Quick and Easy Spark Plug Replacement Review

I bought this to replace the spark plug on my lawn mower. I have a Poulan lawn mower with a Briggs & Stratton engine. I couldn't get to the spark plug with a regular wrench so I ordered this one. It worked well. I gave it a four out of five because there is no way to attach a torsion bar for storage. I see that the band is lost over time. Make sure you buy the right size. The engine manual should list the size needed.

Just what I need to replace the hard to find spark plug on my lawnmower. I went to two stores nearby, one of which was an auto parts store, and no one knew what I was talking about when I asked for a spark plug wrench. They kept trying to tell me I needed an outlet. I received it the same day I ordered it and was finally able to replace the plug. I don't expect to use it too much but it seems well made and durable.

The spark plug on my Ariens snowblower is recessed, slightly angled and partially shrouded. My soft lined ratchet spark plug head was a bit awkward to use. This would have allowed me to loosen the spark plug by partially pulling it off the key to make it work at an angle, but then I had to remove the socket and take out the rest of the spark plug by hand because the socket was too wide. This spark plug wrench is thin enough and long enough to remove the spark plug directly.

I had no idea that electrical appliance spark plugs are different sizes than car spark plugs, so I bought a spark plug tool from an auto parts store. The auto-linked one was also too big and I couldn't use it. After doing some more research I discovered this tool, it's awesome! As simple as it is, I like it. I have a Subaru powered pressure washer, a Honda powered lawn mower and a Troy Bilt trimmer and two sizes of this wrench will fit all of these. I'm sure that's how they planned it, but I'm still impressed with it as now I don't have to worry about where my spark plugs are or whatever as it's all in one. If I had one comment on the product it would have to be that the metal rod you run through the wrench is just a loose piece, there isn't a rubber pad or anything…

Sent promptly, arrived quickly. Ideal for accessing connectors installed in deep recesses where the gap around the connector is tight. This wrench is sized 13/16 and 5/8 and will fit most US lawn equipment but will NOT fit my 18mm outboard spark plugs. This is of course not due to the device. After reading some negative reviews about this tool I had to post something about this spark plug tool. First, this tool works great for its intended purpose. He easily removed the plug from my trimmer which I couldn't plug into a regular outlet due to the limited clearance around the plug.
