Easier to clean and fill

The new, slimmer design makes cleaning easier and the larger lift-off lid makes filling the fridge easier. A little higher, so I had to lower the shelf, which lost some really needed storage space. That's why I gave 4 stars. I would prefer it to be low like the old one and wider.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Not at all what is shown in the photo! Wrong color item! Packaging in different colors! Wrong dimensions! They list it as 7 inches wide but they sent me a 5 inch wide one. Just wrong wrong wrong! Seller: The chief director is completely overwhelmed with his work!

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Can be retrofitted

Fresh water in Florida

If you live in Florida you know water. It really helps get rid of the gummy taste. It is very easy to do without a nose. I always forgot there was water at the top of the pitcher and ended up spilling it everywhere, but the spout makes it safe and a lot less tiring on the wrist.

Pros
  • I hold my fists
Cons
  • Safety

Just right in our fridge.

Our city water has a strong chlorine taste and while the whole home water filter removes some of the taste, Brita gets rid of it completely. We also like the larger capacity reservoir, which is great for two people trying to drink more water. It also means I don't have to keep refilling.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • No insurance

Nothing beats filtered water!

I hated tap water because frankly, Staten Island tap water is really gross. It's a cross between a chlorinated pool and a metal pipe! And to make matters worse, I recently heard that the water does indeed contain asbestos fibers, along with other nasty chemicals! Well, I don't know if that's true or not, but that leaves room for a pause. Finally, I'm tired of constantly spending money on the famous filtered water, which is the same as water that you can filter yourself and save a lot of money…

Thinner but no better

This is my second Brita Ultramax water dispenser because I can't be without it. My original broke when I accidentally dropped it on the spout which broke and detached from the body. I immediately ordered a new one but couldn't find a pure white that I liked so I went with a light gray. never mind I know it's hidden in the fridge most of the time, so what's the difference, right? When it arrived I noticed it was a smaller version which is fine although it seemed smaller. It's not like this. But…

MOST WATER IS NOT ACTUALLY FILTERED

I thought I was very happy with this filter for the first few months but was skeptical of how quickly the water filtered. I went to change the filter and took a closer look to see that the filter was loose allowing water to easily flow around it into the tank. So most of the water in the tank is actually not filtered at all. I used some plastic to secure the filter and push the water through. It's taking longer now, but it actually makes sense for the filter to do its job. There must be some…
