Won't connect to Wi-Fi and plug turns on and off randomly

connection with no frustration. Had not. I tried several troubleshooting steps and it went through the process but the last step failed to connect. One of the ports also switched on and off randomly. I was very hopeful as I wanted all devices to be 5GHz as I sell wireless networks. I have several genuine Revain plugins that work without any issues and are very easy to set up.

Better don't worry about electricity

Smart plug does not work for 5G. The Broadlink app is very difficult to use and keeps showing that it needs a 2.4G connection. I've tried contacting support but their phone number rings to the point of hanging up. This product is not worth the disappointment. Wait for another company to make smart plugs for 5G. I am embarrassed to write a negative complaint, this is my first experience, but it was a very unpleasant experience and disappointing as well. I wish I could give zero stars.

Pros
  • Ideal for a small house
Cons
  • No power

Heavy installation

Purchased 3, We opened two boxes, each took about 10 minutes to install on my iPad. 3. Box did not connect. Had to use my phone which I didn't want, it took 15-20 minutes to connect the downloaded app even to my phone but it connected. It then appeared in an app on my iPad. It seems to work fine, but it took a long time to install. My only advice is if you have 5G internet switch to a lower speed, it will take longer to set up. The last box we opened was only connected to the lower internet. I…

Smart plus with 5GHz WiFi

It's been difficult to find smart plugs that work with a WiFi router that only offers 5GHz, but this Broadlink smart plug nailed it. The setup instructions were a bit clunky and it took some patience to get the smart plug working, but the patience paid off. I've just ordered two more now that I know this smart plug works with my Alexa enabled devices. My only complaint was the dramatic price increase in less than a week. I bought this first smart plug for $11.60 (tax included). A week later…

Disable cellular on phone

So I read all the reviews everyone left before I decide to buy. I was a little apprehensive about the purchase as I previously had several ports that were having trouble connecting to our mixed 2.4/5GHz router. You passed the first attempt in about 10 minutes. The only thing you absolutely must do is turn off the cellular network on your phone when using the device setup app. If you don't turn it off, devices will have a lot of trouble finding Wi-Fi networks to connect to. This is only…
