Don't buy this, you will regret it!

Well I received this item a few days ago and since unboxing it has been an absolute disappointment. 6 calls to my brother, 2 calls to Microsoft and still no solution. Whenever I try to type something in P-Touch Editor, the application freezes and I get an error message (not responding). I haven't printed any labels yet, I've spent so much time getting this thing to work, time that I have to use to run my business. This thing and the quality of Brother products and service sucks. ATTENTION TO…

Pros
  • Connectivity technology: wireless
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors

Everything I was hoping for at a very reasonable price.

Love it! I needed a quick and easy way to print labels to ship my books to customers. QL-800 is just a ticket. I use Editor Lite software installed on the printer, so all I have to do is turn on the printer, click on the app, enter a name and address, press a button and cut out the perfect label. ready to peel off the backing and stick to the package. There was no other setup when it came out of the box, the print quality is great and this baby is FAST! I couldn't be happier with that.

Pros
  • Ability to print mailings and envelopes right from your desktop
Cons
  • Great price

better than DYMO best in Printers & Supplies

This is a great printer! Much better than my DYMO! Read why: - DYMO software is slow with bugs; - You may not use fonts smaller than 8pt in the DYMO Software; - Dymo software is less professional (e.g. no change in print quality). - Actual DYMO printer resolution is smaller and print quality is worse, look at my sticker picture. Brother printer does labels with 6pt font better than DYMO with 8pt font; - Some fonts cannot be used in DYMO software, I don't know why; - Brother has an internal…

Does what it's supposed to do and does it well

Requires a USPS label printer to sell on Ebay. It does exactly that. It's fast and good. I didn't even install the printing software, I just downloaded the only brother driver and it worked. You can easily find the correct label sizes in MS Word and Ebay has the ability to print USPS labels on the larger labels that come with the printer. At this price, it fully pays for itself in about a month in the time saved. I hate a lot of electronics so I'm impressed when I find something that works…

Pros

Terrible - Doesn't work with Macs

Had a Brother 710W which was completely worn out. I chose this one because of the positive reviews and the low price. One small problem - this DOES NOT WORK AT ALL on Mac. Spent the better part of 2 hours searching the web, installing/removing drivers/software, switching computers, swapping cables - whatever - I tried. The QL-800 just doesn't interact with the Mac, either in Max OS 10.13 or the latest version 10.14. Brothers has terrible tech support. The help section is poorly organized and…

Great printer at an affordable price - QL-800

After reading some of the reviews I was under the impression that it prints regular 4" x 6" USPS labels could print, but he doesn't. Instead, it prints labels with a maximum width of 2.4" x (desired length). If you buy this printer, make sure that the source you buy your shipping labels from (Paypal, eBay, Shopify, etc.) it allows you to change the size that you print your labels in. The printer requires the USPS shipping label setting to be set to 2.3"x7.5" I have not tried it for Printing…

The QL-800 does NOT work with Etsy shipping labels

At the time of writing this (December 15, 2019) the QL-800 works great for other types of labels but does NOT work with Etsy shipping labels. (Brother's official help videos state that labels are printed from Ebay). Once you create an Etsy shipping label, Etsy automatically formats it into a PDF file that you can download and print. Even if you're familiar with imaging software, if you print it on the QL-800 continuous label paper (like I did), the label will be too small to read, especially…
