Run firmware update for Google Cloud Print

IF YOU ARE USING GOOGLE CLOUD PRNT: I bought this for my mother who uses a Chromebook. In the delivery state, it is NOT registered under chrome://devices (after successful WLAN setup). The printer does not appear as a device. I reset the printer and still unsuccessful. After setting up the WiFi again, I connected to the printer (using a Chromebook) using its IP address. I was able to update the printer firmware using this wireless connection method (Google Chrome browser). After a successful…

A paperweight disguised as a printer.

Why do I hate this printer? let me count the ways As a professional observer of paint drying, part of my life is sitting on sofas, staring at white walls and adjusting the volume on my TV from time to time. And of course watching the paint dry. My friends (well, my mom) tell me that I need more excitement in my life. This printer definitely fits. When I try to print the pages of my adult coloring book my blood pressure always rises looking at this thing not knowing if the next page will print…

Complicated, buggy and insecure wireless network setup; No 5 GHz

The Wireless Setup Wizard is corrupt and does not work. The Temporarily use USB cable (recommended) option does not recognize the printer and instead disables Bluetooth input devices. The exact same connection works for printing and setting up the device through the printer driver. I was using a Mac with OS 10.13.6 and the version of the Assistant as of January 25, 2019. The System Preferences Printers & Scanners utility allows you to use the backdoor over a USB connection to configure the…

Make sure Deep Sleep is disabled and set Toner to Continue

This is a pretty basic printer even for a girl like me who is not very tech savvy. I literally followed the manual up to the letter T and it worked. My laptop is a gold 12 inch Macbook running version 10.11 El Capitan. It took me a few minutes to figure out how to enter my Wi-Fi password into a printer without a keyboard! (Just press the up/down button until you get to the email you want, then ok.) I ran into the same issue where my laptop wouldn't send print jobs to the printer even though it…

Pretty sad in Printers & Supplies

Pretty sad - that's putting it mildly. I read reviews about the difficulty connecting this printer to Wi-Fi, but I figured I could handle it. After reading the reviews I knew I shouldn't spend more than 20 minutes setting it up over Wi-Fi. I connected it to the USB printer cable I was using and set it up on a Win 7 computer running my former Brother printer. Everything was going pretty well and he wanted to install a firmware update. OK . I started this and after about 40 minutes the setup bar…

Not as advertised; Wi-Fi connection is very difficult to establish

I am a 77 year old retired scientist with good computer skills. This rating refers to the HL-L2370DWXL. The main reason I bought this unit to replace my old Brother printer was that the Revain website (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0763TXM5Q/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00 ?ie=UTF8&psc =1 ) indicates in two different places that the warranty is two years. However, the warranty statement that came with the printer states that the warranty is only for one year. Both Brother's product…
