Labeling machine P-Touch 1830

I like this labeling machine very much; This is exactly what I wanted/expected, the price was great, I was happy with the timely delivery and my only complaint is the typical waste of Brother P-Touch ribbon label printers. Ribbon doesn't come cheap, and each label cuts a decent amount of blank ribbon as waste for each label you print. But that's what I expected, since I know the brand.

Good labels that stick well + Waste tape = OK

I pretty much agree with the other comments here. As for the ribbon waste, I'm not sure if that's intentional since the distance between the printhead and the cutter is 1 inch. The printer doesn't feed the ribbon at the beginning to waste it, it's the other way around. If you want to cut the ribbon, the printer feeds the ribbon so that the last letter you print passes the cutter and it takes 1 inch of ribbon. According to research, there is another factor. I wonder why labels look so pretty and

Tape Waste Solution

Tape waste is by far the most annoying aspect of this label printer. I also agree with one review that said it's better to use the favorites buttons for your favorite SETTINGS than your favorite WORDS. Making text selection is actually very stupid, IMHO. I primarily use my labeler to put the name of the spice on top of the spice jar because I keep my spices in a deep drawer by the stove. This allows me to look down over the jars and easily find my spices instead of looking at them at eye level…
