Great cable, worked great

I think some people misused it to fit a 3/4 inch hole. First you need to remove the brass ring and then insert the cable (not the base). Piece into the through hole, then insert the base into the hole and secure with a brass ring. If you do it like this, it works great. I have it on the fender of my truck and it has worked great so far

Ideal for GMRS radio

Installation is as simple as what and where you install the cable. For me through the fire port on the driver's side of a 2021 Jeep JL Automatic. I believe the fire socket is not available in manual mode. I routed the cable to the front of the cab and left the extra one under the dash. Seal the hole in the firewall with flexible tape, but you can also modify and reinstall the plugin. The end of the antenna mount attaches easily to my mount. The bracket was specifically for the end of the GMRS…

Spring. It only took 2 years to sit on a table

finally installed after cutting a 4ft firestick from a 2m antenna. This is a story for another time. Drilled 3/4" through the entire roof (and almost puked lol) and here's the trick. First you have to feed it from the side of the connector (at least I did). I also had to tighten it twice so the O-ring sits on the roofline and there was no gap which eventually happened.Combined with the TRAM antenna this is a great performance. The relevant set had an SWR of 1.3 at the low end and got lower the…

Good attachment - requires little thread maintenance.

Seems to work fine although only one of the three was plug and play when first installed. With the other two, I couldn't screw the cover or antenna to the bracket. I was a little dissatisfied at first, but then decided to sand down the threads with sanitary sandpaper (or whatever it's called). After removing the immeasurably shallow thread depth, every cap or antenna I've tried has worked. Maybe it was a bad batch of nuts. Generally satisfied, particularly the cost and ease of remediation of…

The price of money. for accessories

I used this NMO mount on a 12 gauge steel antenna mount for my 2m ham radio in my truck. I had to cut a fabricated PL-259 connector to get it through the firewall and then attach a new one; but there is nothing to fear. I attached the antenna to the side of the hood and routed the coaxial cable through the firewall. I secured the coax cable along the back of the engine compartment, being careful not to touch any sharp edges, and routed it through the rubber grommet in the firewall. Long story…

Good portable audio and video cable

This is a high quality cable and connectors and the length is good, but I would be very careful if you plan to drill the car roof panel. Of course, it's important to take care of such a task by choosing the right spot (the center of the roof is best if your sunroof doesn't interfere with traffic), but when it comes to drilling a mounting hole (there are brackets and wires), I'd suggest drilling it smaller and just filing the rest until it's a snug fit. I say that because the lugs that hit the…

  • Definitely bad product

53 years as radio amateur and professional radio operator of the 1st category (now lifelong general purpose radio operator). Better quality than when I bought it from Motorola or soldered it myself. My only caveat is not to use them above 500MHz as the PL-259 is not recommended for that type of use and why disable it? If necessary, purchase one with the correct connector and a nominal frequency of 900-1200 MHz. Ideal for HAM COMMERCIAL LAND MOBILE GMRS. FINAL thought - when installing in the…
